Dr Jadunath (J N) Buragohain is a surgical oncologist. Trained in Cancer Surgery at Cancer Institute(WIA), Adyar, Chennai and is the first M Ch in Surgical Oncology from North East India. He worked as Consultant in Surgical Oncology department at Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre before Joining as Oncosurgeon at Gauhati Medical College and State Cancer Institute, GMC. Presently working as Senior Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Nemcare Hospital, Guwahati.

With excellence in academic and surgical experience, he has brought smiles to many families. Performing regularly difficult Head and Neck cancer resection and reconstruction(including microvascular free flap); Done many thoracic cancer surgery (mainly esophagectomy open and thoracoscopic, and lung surgery), Gastrointestinal Cancer surgery - open and Laparoscopic including radical gastrectomy, colectomy and rectal surgery; many hepatopancreaticobiliry oncosurgery such as whipples pancreaticoduodenectomy, one of the most difficult procedures; Radical cholecystectomy; Urological Cancer Surgery( like Radical Nephrectomy, Cystectomy, prostatectomy etc); Breast cancer surgery including breast conservative surgery, modified radical mastectomy and oncoplastic procedures; Gynaec oncological surgery like cytoreductive ovarian cancer surgery, Surgery for Staging laparotomy for uterine endometrial carcinoma, Radical Hysterectomy for Uterine cervical cancer, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection; Limb salvage surgical procedure using custom made mega prosthesis for musculoskeletal malignancy and also experience in palliative care procedure including pain management of terminal care patient and counselling of the family.
